The Bay Area Regional Planning Unit (RPU) is pleased to release the 2017–20 Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA) Regional Plan Draft for Public Comment.
The four local workforce development boards comprising the RPU — NOVA, work2future, San Benito County, and San Francisco County — jointly developed this Regional Plan Draft with input from partners and stakeholders. The plan focuses on goals and strategies for building regional sector pathways and regionally coordinated workforce services to better meet the needs of employers and job seekers throughout the region.
This plan will be posted for public comment for the 30-day period of January 26 – February 25, 2017. All comments received from the public during this time period will be included in the final submission of the Regional Plan to the State of California Labor and Workforce Development Agency. The Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) requires that local workforce development boards submit a strategic local workforce plan that reflects the vision, strategy, and goals of the State Strategic Workforce Development Plan.
NOVA's plan is a comprehensive document that describes NOVA's vision for engaging key partners to effectively meet the rapidly changing needs of businesses and job seekers in a highly competitive and global economy.
The NOVA Strategic Local Plan for the three-year period beginning July 1, 2017, was recently posted for public review and comment; the comment period closed on January 12, 2017. The revised plan is available below for review.
