Loss Curve

The "Loss Curve" is the emotional and psychological pathway that you may travel after finding out that you are losing a job - from the initial shock of disbelief to the eventual sense of healing and being able to move forward. Losing a job can cause different reactions and emotions for each person. Some may react with fear, while others are relieved with a sense of freedom. There are countless feelings that one can experience. No matter how you are feeling there are three things you will want to do to ensure a successful transition through these changing times in your life:

  • Reflect on the past
  • Deal with the present
  • Think about where you want to be tomorrow

If you are struggling with your job loss and you want to learn how to get from "Anger" to "Healing," please attend our "Managing Change" workshop, an interactive workshop to help you move through the stress and uncertainty created by job loss.

To find out when the next "Managing Change" workshop is occurring, please visit our Job Seeker Events Calendar webpage. This workshop is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
