LinkedIn Grant Award for Youth
The LinkedIn for Good Foundation has awarded NOVA a $25,000 grant to serve low-income disadvantaged youth through NOVA’s Leadership Program that engages youth in developing the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to be successful, both in career and in life. The program uniquely combines job search/retention training and 200 hours of subsidized work experience with weekly interactive small group sessions focusing on leadership, values, effective communication skills, problem solving, networking & social media, and much more. Participation in community service projects and mentoring younger youth are also part of the curriculum. This new funding will go a long way to preparing today’s youth for future careers, involvement in their community, and a better quality of life.
This is the second grant NOVA has received from LinkedIn this year. The NOVA Job Center continues to use LinkedIn technology as an invaluable tool for job seekers in their job search and networking that will lead to future employment opportunities.
