Recruiter for United Defense LP Lauds ProMatch
There are many educated people in Silicon Valley, but finding talent that closely matches an employer's open position can be a struggle for company recruiters. For Tim Wyatt, recruiter at United Defense, L.P., ProMatch has proven to be an excellent resource.
"I check ProMatch's Web site once every three weeks to see if there's anyone there who matches what I'm looking for," says Wyatt. "I like the way members' profiles are listed by specific occupations; I can quickly see if there's someone I want to contact. Plus it's a free service."
Wyatt, who has spent over 20 years as a specialist in staffing and recruiting, has hired project management engineers and mechanical engineers from ProMatch's ranks. "I'm always amazed how many bright people are involved in ProMatch," he says. "It's unfortunate the way our economic landscape has changed. No position is bulletproof anymore."
Wyatt knows the realities of unemployment only too well. In June 2003, he found himself laid off from a job with Loral Corporation that he expected to retire from. Wyatt eventually joined ProMatch, where he made full use of ProMatch's networking opportunities. Today, he includes ProMatch as one of his primary recruitment tools.
